THREE HUNDRED SEVENTY FIVE HORSEPOWER FROM FOUR CYLINDERS, HAND BUILT, AND DRIVEN THIRTY FIVE HUNDRED MILES A YEAR
One engineer builds the engine. One. He signs a plaque and bolts it to the cover. That is how AMG does it, and the 2.0L turbocharged four in this GLA 45 made 375 horsepower and 350 pound-feet, which at the time made it the most powerful production four cylinder in the world. Then somebody bought it in Yakima and drove it about thirty five hundred miles a year.
You start it cold and it barks. You put it in Sport, the seven-speed dual clutch snaps off a shift, all four wheels bite, and a compact crossover that looks perfectly reasonable in the school pickup line does something genuinely unreasonable.

THE HONEST PART
CARFAX shows a damage report dated October 20, 2020, listed as MINOR, with damage to the front and right front. CARFAX defines minor damage as generally cosmetic, dents or scratches to the body. This was a damage report, not a reported accident. No structural damage was reported, no airbags deployed, it was never a total loss, and every title brand comes back guaranteed clean.
The factory warranty has expired. On a car with this kind of hardware, that is worth taking seriously, and it is also why the price looks the way it does.
THE SERVICE FILE
Fifteen service records, and the important thing is who did the work. Steve Hahn Mercedes-Benz in Yakima, the selling dealer, handled it at 2,172, 5,873, 8,556 and 18,943 miles. Friendly Automotive West did oil and filter at 4,657, 22,998 and 25,379, the last including a brake fluid flush. Autometrics in Yakima did the serious maintenance at 27,366: transmission fluid changed, differential fluid flushed and air filter replaced. Most recent oil and filter and tire rotation at 32,689.
No open recalls reported to CARFAX. CARFAX rates future reliability GOOD, with the Oil Changes Performed Regularly note and an estimated average repair cost of $430 per year.
These do not come through often, and they almost never come through with this few miles and this much of the AMG options list. Come drive it before somebody who already knows what a GLA 45 is gets here first.
A negotiable documentary service fee of $200.00 may apply to each purchase.
