If you know, you know. This is the FK8 generation Civic Type R, the front wheel drive car that went to the Nurburgring and embarrassed things that cost three times as much. Honda built it with a 2.0 liter turbocharged four, a six speed manual and an adaptive suspension, and they never built an automatic one. Not one. That is the whole point of the car.
You open the door onto black and red, drop into a high-bolstered sport seat wearing suede-effect fabric, and the seating position is low and correct. You put your hand on the shifter, roll out onto Clearwater, and go find a road worth the trouble. The 540-watt premium audio system with twelve speakers is there when you want it, and completely beside the point when you do not.
